Origin of the Collection: travel memories from Bari
The Cruise Collection draws its inspiration from Gaetano Scintilla’s childhood memories of traveling with his grandfather from Bari.
These journeys taught him early on that home and travel are not separate worlds: a truly meaningful design can ground us in a space, offering stability and belonging, while also carrying the poetry of journey and the quiet urge to explore.
This lived experience became the most sincere starting point for the entire collection.

The starting point of the entire collection is the bitta, the common mooring bollard found in every port.
A purely functional and rational element, yet in my eyes it holds silent power. Steady, firm, unyielding through storms, it embodies the calmness and order my grandfather taught me.
I combined it with a smooth, elongated rod, named it Flauto, and shaped it into the most essential curtain rod in any space. Hard structure and soft lines merge. Cold hardware becomes the skeleton that holds the light and shadow of curtains, a breathing sculpture in the interior.

The Cruise Collection is a complete lifestyle system, unified by a consistent design language across all categories
What truly gives it soul is Oblò.
This ring, resembling a ship’s porthole, is not merely decoration — it is a perspective onto the world.
When you look through it, you stand on a deck gazing into the distance: your gaze crosses the ring, meets the Flauto rod, and in an instant you recall the rise and fall of waves, the silence of the deep sea, and the light dancing on the water.
As curtains glide open and closed along the rod, light shifts and flows. Technology turns into emotion, structure into story. Every glance becomes a brief return home.
Thus a system connecting function and emotion is born — a complete curtain system.

Materials
The Bitta is cast in precious metals: ruthenium, palladium, gold. Steady and powerful, it forms the solid base of the curtain system. The Flauto rod is crafted from fine woods — walnut, oak, rosewood, maple — warm and tactile, supporting the elegant drape and movement of fabric.
Metal and wood converse, lines and light echo. Curtains breathe with the rod. Every detail carries the aesthetic order I inherited from the sea and my grandfather.
As the collection evolved, it grew far beyond a curtain system.
The Flauto rod integrates marble; the Bitta ascends into a ceremonial form. We create exclusive designs for luxury residences, villas and high-end bathrooms. Calacatta Oro marble meets gold finishes, balancing strength and grace. Every detail declares: great design has both structure and soul.

“Bitta Flauto Oblò” is also part of the Cruise Collection, dedicated to the theme of travel.
It appears in walk-in closets, wall panels, coat hangers and cabinet structures. Each application is a reinterpretation, each form continuing the story of the sea and home.
For me, this is never just a design collection.
It is a dialogue between past and present, a bridge between memory and creation.
Every time I see it, I return to the port of my childhood, hear the wind, see the sailboats, and feel again the freedom, strength and faith in beauty my grandfather gave me.
It invites not only physical travel, but emotional homecoming.
Born from private memory, it becomes a universal language of elegance, identity and heritage.
