01. Context
Tianjin – Where the Past Meets the Future
Villa Otto comes to life in Tianjin, a city with a dual personality, where the history of European concessions coexists with the bold architecture of the Binhai New Area. Here, the elegant colonial facades of the Five Great Avenues meet futuristic skyscrapers and the modernity of the famous Binhai Library, creating a unique and surprising urban landscape.
This complex environment, crossed by the Haihe River, inspired the project, transforming the villa into a bridge between historical memory and contemporary vision.

02. Project Inspiration
A Dialogue Between Two Cities in One Villa
The concept of Villa Otto is born from the meeting of two worlds: the timeless charm of European colonial architecture and the dynamic energy of Tianjin’s modern forms. The project transforms this contrast into harmony, creating spaces where tradition and innovation naturally coexist, giving life to a contemporary and timeless language.

03. Interior Design
Colonial Elegance with a Contemporary Touch
The interiors pay homage to the past, with finely crafted boiseries, precious woods that embrace the spaces, and golden brass details that highlight every corner. Luxurious marbles, from Michelangelo Statuario to Calacatta Oro, add brightness and refinement, creating focal points of understated elegance.
Every material choice dialogues with the classical style, reinterpreted with contemporary sensibility, resulting in sophisticated, warm, and inviting spaces where history meets the present.

04. Decoration and Materials
Material Harmony and Italian Craftsmanship
The decoration introduces softness and modernity, with fluid shapes balancing the villa’s classical structure. Exquisite materials have been carefully selected: Italian tanned leathers, Italian fabrics covering most of the custom-made furnishings by top artisans and renowned brands, and grand French crystal elements, casting light dramatically and evoking the elegance of the colonial period.
The result is a harmonious, enveloping space where craftsmanship, light, and precious materials create a continuous and sophisticated narrative.
